I tried this recipe looking for something easy to cook for dinner. Not only was it easy, it was excellent. I served it with onion rolls from the local supermarket– hit the spot! Slap down some potato in fri or chip form and you’ve got a real kid pleaser.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 3/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 3 teaspoons brown sugar
- ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain off liquids.
- Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, liquid smoke and brown sugar; mix thoroughly.
- Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Season with pepper to taste.
